Action Fence and Deck provides fence services with every homeowner in mind. If your budget does not allow the top end designs and materials offered exclusively with some fence companies, we can help. The popular choice for our clients with smaller budgets is the spruce or whitewood fence.
Spruce wood is probably the least expensive fence material on the market and may be painted or stained to match buildings and houses. Spruce, or whitewood is an economy wood; some irregularities, warping, and blemishes are common and should be expected. Texture and color also may vary.
Spruce, as well as other species of wood such as pine and fir, belongs to the grouping of woods known as whitewoods. This wood, when used in outdoor applications such as fencing may appear white when first installed. Life expectancy is 5 to 8 years under normal conditions; however the life span can be increased with sealing or staining. Although we recommend a preservative for the longest-lasting performance, many installations are never treated.
At Action Fence & Deck our spruce fences are constructed with the same care and attention to detail as the top of the line fences we build. We use select pine or pressure treated rails and concreted wood or metal posts. We also use galvanized ring-shanked nails or screws as fasteners to ensure the long life and beauty of your fence.
